Shaem and I are blessed with exemplary fathers. It gives us confidence and a desire to follow in their footsteps. I hope we are making our fathers proud! They were not perfect—no one is—but they are upright and good and an aspirational example for Shaem and me respectively. I know for sure Shaem is an exemplary Father to our daughters. I bet my last dollar, his daddy is so proud of him.

Fathers – whether biological, single, foster or stepfathers, they strive mightily and do their very best in an often difficult role. We honor those who do all that can be done in love, patience, and self-sacrifice to meet individual and family needs.

Loving the mother of his/step children—and showing that love—are two of the best things a father can do for his children. This reaffirms and strengthens the marriage that is the foundation of their family life and security.

My daddy knelt before Mother Mary and prayed for a baby girl. Till this very day, I stand tall and will never want to put my daddy’s name down because of this. He prayed to have me brought into this world and he is my world. He treats me like a queen and allows no one to treat me otherwise. When I am feeling low, I think of him and pick myself up. This is my favourite memory of my daddy.

As we celebrate Father’s Day, let’s share our thanks and precious memories of our fathers to them. It’s nice to feel appreciated and though men act all tough at times, deep down they would love to hear and know we thank the almighty for their existence and selfless gestures.

To all the Daddies, Happy Father’s Day!
